About K1.3 million has been allocated to entrepreneurs in Lavushimanda District of Muchinga Province under the Constituency Development Fund (CDF) for Mfuwe, in a move aimed at strengthening small businesses and local economic activity.
The funding is expected to benefit more than 150 entrepreneurs across the district, providing capital to support enterprise growth, job creation and improved household incomes.
Area Member of Parliament Mufunelo Malama said the Citizens Economic Empowerment Commission (CEEC) is set to begin disbursing the funds in the coming period, marking the next phase of the initiative’s rollout.
Mr Malama noted that the programme forms part of the government’s broader strategy to stimulate business development and foster sustainable livelihoods in rural communities.
He said targeted empowerment through the CDF remains a critical tool in enabling citizens to participate meaningfully in economic activities, particularly in underserved areas such as Lavushimanda.
The initiative is expected to unlock new opportunities for small-scale traders, farmers and emerging entrepreneurs, while also contributing to the district’s overall economic resilience.
