Napsa Stars assistant coach Keegan Syabeene says he cannot tell how many points his side needs to collect in their remaining four matches in order to survive relegation.
Napsa remained in relegation after Thursday’s 1-1 draw against Nkana at home in Lusaka.
With four matches left to play in the season, Napsa are one point behind the survival slot currently occupied by Nkwazi.
”A win was going to be an important result but it has not come so we take the point, as we have lost two points we look to the next game,” Syabeene said.
”At this point we appreciate every point we gain but today we can say it is two points lost,” he said.
Napsa have 29 points after picking six wins, 11 draws and 13 defeats in 30 matches.
”I think I wouldn’t talk about the points we need, what is important is the flow of the games as they are coming. Our job as of now is to try and continue picking up points because we have dropped four important points,” Syabeene said.
Napsa will tackle Kabwe Warriors in their next fixture away in Kabwe on Sunday.
Nkana deputy coach Josephat Nkhoma expected a tough match against fellow struggling side Napsa.
”We knew it was going to be a tough game against Napsa Stars knowing that our opponents wanted to win this must at all cost but equally as Nkana we wanted to achieve something. We planned to win or draw this game,” Nkhoma said.
Nkana scored after two minutes through skipper Harrison Chisala before Napsa equalised via Sydney Phiri, a minute later.
”Our plan was to score an early goal but we had lapses,” he said.
”If you have seen we are scoring in each game which is a plus for Nkana, we were struggling to score in the past. In the next game if we score we will be ending somewhere as a team,” Nkhoma said.
Nkana’s next match is against Nchanga Rangers at home in Wusakile on Sunday.
