Defence minister expresses gratitude to President Hichilema after tenure

Defence Minister Ambrose Lufuma has expressed gratitude to President Hakainde Hichilema for entrusting him with the role of Minister of Defence from 2021 to 2026.

In a statement released today, Mr Lufuma said it had been an honour and privilege to serve Zambia in the defence portfolio during his tenure under President Hichilema’s leadership.

He thanked the Head of State for the confidence placed in him, noting that his appointment allowed him to contribute to strengthening the country’s defence and security systems.

Mr Lufuma said he served with dedication, loyalty and patriotism, adding that he remained grateful for the opportunity to represent the nation in such a critical role.

He concluded his remarks by wishing the country well and invoking blessings upon Zambia.

Mr Lufuma is also Member of Parliament for Kabompo Constituency.
